Peppers, Peppers, and More Peppers
Happy Halloweek ! This week we’ve really ramped up cleaning up. Last Friday, some students from Land One helped us mulch our garden. That involved a lot of running arond in the rain to scoop leaves into compost bins, which were then brought back up and dumped all over the garden. Also, the old container full of mucky water has been drained and filled with nasturtium cuttings!

- Harvested so many peppers.
- Started cutting away the tomato plants since the remaining fruits won’t be ripening in time.
- Covered the ground at the back of the garden (by the mulberry) with cardboard, in hopes that mint will not take over so quickly at the start of next season.

- More harvesting of the peppers, as well as cleaning up plants that are done.
- Finished cleaning up most of the tomatoes. All of their cages have been bent back in shape, so our transplanting next season will be smooth sailing with no annoying wire wrangling.
Even as fall blows along, there’s always much to do. Mushroom growing is being prepared for, and the garden team met recently to discuss the start of some other small projects. We hope that everyone is dressing warm, and not too swamped with midterms.
